The sound of water in the river
tells me how far it wants to go.
The sound of wind hitting leaves
tells me how strong they are.
Oh Wind! Why don’t you carry the sound
of my beloved and tell me how deep her love is.
The wall you build sometimes
to keep people away
to not feel anything.
I stand on the other side
wondering if it is just for me?
I wait for it to disappear
but it only gets taller.
I wait there
with sweat and tears as my companion,
they nurture my soul like water does to the roots of a tree
and I wait with a hope that one day
I’ll grow taller than your wall.
So many things to say
So many things to do
So many ways to overcome this blue
But I don’t want to resist
this pain and suffering
I want to be drowned in this shallow water
for having loved too deep.

Water flows down and up a hill
who knows the pain of being still?
Water bursts from the clouds and come down as rain
never shares its journey nor shares its pain.
It flows and flows till it reaches the ocean
and merges forever with its sole companion.
But what about the love of land and water?
An ocean is too deep for the land to be seen.
We run for success, we run for fame
We find happiness in broken chains
Someone’s loss is someone’s gain.
We honour the dead and forget the living
and pledge our life to unconditional giving.
Running the rat race pushing others behind
To meet the ideal self in imaginary mind.
Emotions and thinking
Our voyages keep sinking.
Stillness of moon generates waves
and stillness of soul, toxic waters?
Who loves the sun
Yet we seek its courage
Water is humble
What about the floods?
Air is ecstatic
are storms too?
Too much passion kills
“There is no safety in standing still”
Yet lotus grows there.
